Meet Shelley Bowman
Originally from Atlanta, I moved to Denver in 1975 and never looked back. My lifelong passions include gardening, the Denver Broncos, and most of all, the incredible Bouvier des Flandres.
My Bouvier journey began in 1990 with Lizzie, a rescue from a Kansas puppy mill. Though fearful at first, she taught me the power of patience and trust. A year later, I got my first Bouvier puppy from B.Witchn Bouviers—thanks to Karen Brown, who became my mentor and friend. That pup, Dutch, earned multiple titles in obedience, agility, and herding, and was truly “Mr. Perfect.”
His half-sister Iris brought a bold personality and unmatched determination. She lived over 14 years, earned eight titles—including one on her 12th birthday—and left a legacy through her litters and the families who welcomed her pups.
For over three decades, I've been deeply involved in the dog world—as a breeder, trainer, mentor, and volunteer. I’ve served with the American Bouvier des Flandres Club, American Bouvier Rescue League, Colorado Kennel Club, and even helped form the Mile High Agility Club of Boulder. My dogs have also brought joy to patients through pet therapy programs.
The Bouvier des Flandres is a loyal companion and a very versatile dog. On this website I have tried to highlight this in conformation, carting, herding, and obedience to the less well known areas like Fast CAT, therapy and scent work. They can do it all and most of all they love to have jobs to do.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy exploring the site and seeing how Bouviers can be loving companions, loyal protectors, and impressive athletes.
